Molokai’s students travel to Maui for athletics, science fairs, field trips, and other educational activities. The Friends Foundation was able to make a great purchase of two new, 15 passenger buses for Molokai High’s travels. Prior to this investment, students travel in buses that were at least 20 years old and with major maintenance expenses. With 80% funding provided by outside contributors and foundations, the Friends Foundation covered the balance for both buses. Around $150,000 went into this project. These buses contribute easy and safe transportation while off the island. It’s the buses that take students to their new strides in education and unforgeable games.
